We launched Rubicon after years of watching homeowner after homeowner struggle through their repair experiences, including frustrating documents and stressful logistics. There had to be a way to educate homeowners and business owners about the process and give them a trustworthy, transparent partner to help work out the kinks—a local contractor that’s owned and operated by longtime Lincoln residents who know the area’s insurance and building businesses.

  • Should I turn in an insurance claim?

    The short answer is… have it inspected first. It’s best to have a roofing professional confirm damage to the roof before turning in a claim. With extensive experience in the insurance industry as an adjustor and trainer for over 20 years, owner Brandon Schroer is the perfect resource to help you answer this question on your roof. If damage is found, he can help you manage the logistics of the insurance process and get full insurance benefits.

  • How do I know if I need a new roof?

    Obvious characteristics such as holes in the roof, missing or curling shingles, and leaks are evidence a roof might need replaced. Other more subtle reasons would be age, animals living in your attic, and missing or damaged flashing. The most accurate way to assess a roof’s condition is by having it inspected by a Rubicon expert.

  • How often does a roof need to be replaced?

    The longevity of a roof depends on several variables such as material, installation, ventilation and location. Typically, a well-constructed roof will last roughly 12-15 years. Depending on the quality of material, some can last as long as 30 years or more.

  • How much does a new roof cost?

    Every roof is different. When calculating the price of a new roof, considerations such as size, old roof removal, style, shape, material, and any features to work around (chimneys, skylights, vents, etc) all play a role.

  • Should I replace my roof before I list my home?

    According to Better Homes and Gardens, roughly 40% of a home's curb appeal comes from the condition and look of its roof. When selling, consider roof repair or replacement. Doing so before selling can help you get ahead of trouble while still recouping most, if not all, or the repair/replacement cost when the deal is done.

  • What is the best time to replace a roof?

    It is best to replace your roof when you have weather warm enough to seal down the shingles. In Nebraska, spring through fall offers optimal temperatures to repair or replace a roof.

  • Can I replace my roof myself?

    Yes, but should you? Many roofs have been replaced with a “buddy and a beer” and we often receive calls to fix and repair them. Proper roofing installation takes skill and know-how.   • What roofing materials do you use?

    We work with you to design and order materials that you will love and that will enhance the curb appeal of your home. In addition to the visible shingles, we will inspect and correct any issues with your decking and flashings. We will replace drip edge, underlayment, apply proper ventilation, and install ice and water barrier to ensure an expertly installed, worry-free roof.

  • Do you do roof inspections?

    YES! If you suspect damage to your roof or know it is reaching the end of its lifespan, give us a call to set up a free, comprehensive inspection.
